When I have Friends come and visit me, there are several places I feel are a must see. Generally, these suggestions / comments are focussed towards visitors from the USA as most of my visitors are from there, but Im sure ANYONE would find the places Im about to tell you aboutvery intersting and FUN!

The LONDON Eye When 'they' suggested the construction of this amazing feat of engineering, I didnt believe it could or would be done.....but 'they' did it. Cant believe they actually got the planning permission to build such a huge tourist attraction on the River Thames, right opposite the Houses of Parliament. But 'they' did. The views are breathtaking, day or night, but getting tickets can prove a little stressful. Its sponsored by British Airways so expect a lot of BA Bullsh*t, Like the "Have a nice Flight" greeting as you enter the PODS? But be selective with whom you stand in line with as you are gonna be stuck with them for 45 mins., not a place for people with a fear of confined spaces.

St. Paul's Cathedral Has Many Years of Memories for me, I think my parents first took me there when I was very young. Inside is just breath taking but climb the enormous amount of stairs through some quite scary metal staircase section to The Whiserping Gallery, a circular blacony with stone walls that project your voice...very weird, you can here whispers in your ears from someone over 30 ft away. Then keep climbing to get outside, on a nice day see for miles! oh..it's where Pricess Diana and Charles Married!

Buckingham Palace is an obvious one, but Everyone asks to see it, so here are the details, Im only including it because its FREE...where the HRH Queeny stays in London, if the Royal Standard Flag is flying she is there! You can Buy tickets to go on tours inside, but dont bother! Museums are much better and FREE.

There are Many GREAT Mueums in London and NOW they are all FREE! My Favourite is The British Museum Elgin Marbles and Beatles Lyrics!

One of the Best things about London are The Royal Parks , Massive areas of GREEN open space all over London, Great all time of the year, but in the Summer WOW !

Food&drinks , mmmm I love food, London in previous years has not been the best place for food, but over the past few years, we have had an increase of some really great eateries! Try these:

TINSEL Town 24HOUR American Diner I grew up in the USA, with places like this everywhere, It reminds me of Denny's for anyone who has been stateside. This is the only place you can go and get this range of quality fast food at any time of the day or night, The menu is VAST and the milkshakes are proper, USA PHAT Styley shakes with a range of flavours that you have never seen before. Try it at 4 am

The Baltic - Southwark Is a mixture of contemporary Polish and other Baltic area food. You would never guess that from the name would you? It has a very trendy bar with eating area in rear, the food is wonderful, but the best thing is the range of frozen vodkas, The Honey one is my fav. it just slips down your throat like cold honey on a summers day....just amazing. This place is very popular, so booking in advance is a must! Or expect a wait at the bar, which isn't so bad as you can try out the frozen vodkas whilst you wait.

VERTIGO@  TOWER 42 use to be the NAtwest Tower and now has a Champagne and Oyster Bar on FLoor ...wait for it...42! Its a great place to take someone on a first date, but beware, a bit pricey!

If Price is not an issue, Long Bar @ The Sanderson is another great palce for a memorable drink or meal. Has a very long bar and an outside area which is covered over in the winter and fantastic in the summer! Can get very busy. Also a great hotel but very expensive!

Antony's offer a extensive menu ranging from pasta dishes to baked salmon and pancakes as well as Polish dishes including sauerkraut. They cater for vegetarians and offer live entertainment in the private club downstairs. Great home cooked food....very cosey atmosphere.
